It's so understood by everyone that Lex is basically already the Queen to Dallas's King of Sector 4 and that's established in Beyond Shame. So you would think that the two of them making it real would be easy. Except, you would be so wrong.It's so interesting to watch the dynamic between them and seeing how much Dallas loves Lex and respects her. I think that's such an important component to erotic romance where the bedroom dynamics play with the dominant/submissive trope. I just really love Lex as a character.

Definitely ups the ante as far as steamy sex and uncompromising violence are concerned. The second book in this series, Beyond Control brings back characters from the first one , expanding on their stories as well as adding new players to the mix. But the best part is the continued development of the relationship between Lex and Dallas. The way the authors handle the dynamic between these two blew me away. Lex and Dallas are so obviously two parts of a whole and yet we are kept wondering right to the end how they can work things out. About that sex I mentioned earlier? Be prepared for some really graphic, kinky BDSM because there's a lot of it.
Not to worry, though. The regular storyline continues with healthy doses of politics, territory disputes, assorted very nasty bad guys and gals and some well plotted treachery. Oh, and let's not forget the violence!
Good book if your like this kind of escapism. I read it in one night.

Actual Story is a 3 but BEST DIRTIEST SEX SCENE EVER (my favorite out of any I've read) is a 5 so 4 stars it is.
First let’s just say that I thought Beyond Shame had my favorite sex scene ever. Well move over because that one has been bumped to the #2 position to be replaced by one of the sex scenes in this book which now claims the #1 position of Best and Dirtiest Sex Scene I’ve read. I really didn’t think that Kit Rocha could outdo it and then WOW my world was rocked.

There was nothing hotter in this book than Dallas taking control and giving Lex her fantasy. Directing all the people that touched her and how and when. Making sure that it was all about Lex and her pleasure, reading everything she wanted out of the situation and then ensuring that she got that and more. It was illicit, naughty, dirty and OMG so HOT I melted.
Besides that there is Lex who most of the time I love. I mean she is strong, feisty and doesn’t take smack from almost anyone. Plus she owns her sexuality, there is never any shame in her game and she is up for pretty much anything. Also she says stuff like…

She is so busy being a badass and saying cool things that sometimes you miss how totally broken she is. She is totally messed up and might be able to share her body and pleasure with almost anyone but she definitely doesn’t know how to share her heart or control.
Dallas who is a control freak and just as messed up in his own ways. I mean these two have been circling each other for six years and have done just about everything you can think of sexually except actual intercourse. Because Dallas has rules and one of them is unless he has collared you and you are his alone he will not put his dick in you. He has met his match with Lex who pushes back and doesn’t let him get away with anything.

Lex and Dallas together are a force to be reckoned with and there will be some bumps and bruises along the way as Dallas tries to figure out how to keep a woman he has collared and balance an empire. Lex spends her time coming to terms with her new role, her past and how to be in someone else’s control on a permanent basis.
The story wasn’t as good as the first book. It is still interesting as Dallas works out how to get sector 3 under control and rebuild it without compromising his own empire in sector 4. He has to decide what is more important to him, the drive for power or his need for Lex. But let’s be honest the story is really secondary to the sex and there was a lot of hot dirty sex had by all.
Warning This is not for the faint of smut. There are threesomes, foursomes, sexsomes and gender is pretty irrelevant. But I love that I never feel like at any time a woman is being disrespected or abused. It is all consensual and done in a caring and loving mannor.
I’ll admit, the Bound series is not for everyone. It’s dark, gritty, erotic and at times, terrifying. It’s also a lot more than what’s obvious on the surface.
Readers were introduced to Alex and Dallas in Beyond Shame. Sector Four’s leaders were a force to be reckoned with, yet they ruled with fairness and compassion – as well as iron fists.
Alex had fought hard to get where she was and far away from where and who she had been. She cared about the gang and fought for them as hard as she fought for herself. Dallas was the same. He earned the respect he was given. He depended on Alex to keep him on an even keel. It was hard for both of them to admit any weakness at all.
There were parts of this story that were as beautiful as they were harsh. The was a edge to everything about these men and women who loved as hard as they fought. They didn’t hold back and lived their lives to the extreme. To say that this world created by Kit Rocha is intense would be an extreme understatement.
There were things about Beyond Control that I didn’t expect. Beyond all the sex, fighting and vying for control, emotions were running high. I kind of expected that, but I didn’t expect tears and I most definitely didn’t expect Dallas to come as close as he did to breaking my heart. He almost lost everything…
There are a couple of novellas thrown into the mix, but the next book in the series is Beyond Pain, featuring Six and Bren. It’s been almost 2 years since I read Beyond Shame, but now that I’ve pulled myself back into this world, I’m pretty sure it won’t be that long before I pick up Beyond Pain.
